Critical Mass Interactive Partners with periMind to Create Air Attack Sequel, Air Attack II


AUSTIN, Texas--Dec. 7, 2004.

Game Developer Critical Mass Interactive (CMI) recently released “Air Attack II,” a cell phone game similar to the NES classic, 1942. CMI is known both as an outsource studio and as a developer, evidenced by their recently released “USAF: Air Dominance,” a game meant to raise awareness of the United States Air Force.

“Critical Mass Interactive is proud to be a part of the sequel to the worldwide bestseller Air Attack,” explained Billy Cain, VP of Development at CMI. Critical Mass Interactive partnered with Airborne Entertainment and periMind to create Air Attack Sequel.

In Air Attack II, players pilot a World War 2 era aircraft in an effort to destroy the enemy forces. Not content to just lie down, the enemy unleashes aircraft, battleships, and other assorted ground vehicles. The player must rely on quick reflexes and power-ups scattered throughout each mission in order to succeed.

 


“For CMI’s involvement,” explained Cain, “we were asked to take a look at the original Air Attack, assess it, and then find a way to make the sequel more engaging while staying true to the original.”

Air Attack is just one title gone through the CMI Review Service. CMI uses a veteran team of testers and designers to play-test the game and offer an unbiased, fair assessment for your cell phone game. “We are motivated to make every game a fun experience for the player, and our comments reflect this desire to improve the existing product,” commented Brad Woolwine, Lead Designer at Critical Mass Interactive.

Air Attack II


CMI brings new testers into the game so that each assessment is new and can reflect the opinions of a “new customer.” One of the more recent reviews they have completed is “Predator” by Indiagames.

CMI’s portion of Air Attack II was completed early this year, and the game is available for download on various carriers now.

Currently CMI is furthering production of their “Sword of Dracula” game, as well as finalizing negotiations with a major game designer.
