Multiple Games Assisted by CMI's Game Review Service Nominated for Best Wireless Game of 2006 at Spike TV Video Game Awards, Including the Winner!
AUSTIN, TX -- Dec. 14, 2006
Critical Mass Interactive racked up a double score at the 4th annual Spike TV Video Game Awards held on Friday, December 8th in Los Angeles. Two games that went through their game review service were nominated for the Best Wireless Game of 2006, including the winner of the award. The identity of the other nominee is protected by our Non-Disclosure Agreement.
"I am so happy for the teams that were nominated and for Vivendi Games Mobile for winning the category," said Billy Cain, VP of Development at Critical Mass Interactive. "This is proof that our review service really does add the extra finishing touches on games that are in production. We have helped many of our clients win awards, and this is one of the most exciting!"
Over the course of 2006, SWAT Force has racked up accolades from major game reviewers, including a Mobie Award nomination from CNET Networks Games & Entertainment and an IGN Editor's Choice Award. In its review, IGN stated, "SWAT Force is one of the better PC-to-mobile games we have played."
I can't think of a better way for Vivendi Games Mobile to celebrate its successful entry into the business," said Paul Maglione, president of Vivendi Games Mobile. "The quality of our games is being recognized across our entire slate of titles, but to receive this special acknowledgement for SWAT Force is indeed an honor. We look forward to building the SWAT franchise and evolving the title to deliver an even better game for mobile devices worldwide."
Since 2004, Critical Mass Interactive has been working with a select group of mobile publishers and developers, one game at a time, helping them improve their games in many ways, which improves their game scores in the press once the game releases, which ultimately improves the bottom line for the game. In other words, the more people that have a better game experience, the more that tell their friends to buy it, and therefore the more money the game makes for the developers.
Director of Development Billy Cain notes that "many clients wish to remain secret, and have our involvement be their 'competitive advantage' in the market. Having a game that is even a little more accessible and balanced really resonates in the market, and we have given our developers an edge over their competition. One important note is that all comments we make go straight to our clients and that's where it ends. We make the suggestions and if the developer believes the changes are worth doing, have the time or have the budget to implement them, they do. We're just happy to help our fellow game developers make better games. Plus we do it at a reasonable price!"
